Question: What is the admission process?
Answer:
First the student is required to complete an application form (international students will be contacted by telephone or video conferencing). The student will be offered admission and will be required to pay a deposit. This deposit is 60% of the actual course fee. Upon the payment of the initial deposit, all the embassy letters will be released.
Question: What is the mode of payment?
Answer:
Students can pay their initial deposit by Bankers Draft payable to LIC or by a Telegraphic Transfer into the College account.
Question: Where can I pay my deposit?
Answer:
Students can pay the initial deposit directly to the College or to the appointed local representatives.
Question: Does the tuition fees include living expenses, books, etc?
Answer:
Tuition fee does not cover living expenses, insurance, travel, book and/or any other equipment or incidental expenses.
Question: When do I have to pay the remaining tuition fees?
Answer:
Remaining tuition fee should be paid according to the installment plan which is generated by the college for each student. The College reserves the right to stop any student from attending the classes or exams for the non-payment of fees.
Question: What is the average living cost in Luton?
Answer:
Average living costs for international students will be between £400 – £500 per month. This includes accommodation, food and transport.
Question: Do I have to pay any deposit for my accommodation?
Answer:
Yes, students are required to pay Some adjustable deposit for the rent. This deposit will not be refunded if the student fails to take the accommodation or cancels without a month notice.
Question: If I fail a subject do I have to pay and how many resit are allowed for each subject?
Answer:
Students who fail a subject will have to pay an additional £50 for every paper they wish to resit. Payment will be due, before resetting the exam, on the date published by the College. Only one resit is allowed per subject.
Question: Who awards the final degree and is it a recognized degree?
Answer:
After completing the programme successfully, it is anticipated that the students would receive appropriate Degree subject to approvals of our applications for affiliation / accreditation with higher education institutions.
Question: Will I have combined classes?
Answer:
Yes, you will have combined classes with senior or junior groups and other degree level courses depending on the subject. It will not affect the sequence of your curriculum path and the principle is normal in United Kingdom Universities.
Question: Is obtaining a student Visa difficult?
Answer:
No, providing you have bonafide credentials and sufficient funds to cover the cost of study and living expenses, you should not have difficulty in obtaining a student visa. Our representative will provide all the help you need.
Question: Can I change the course after arriving in Luton?
Answer:
No, you will not be able to change your course once you arrive in Luton. However, if there is a genuine problem then, with the recommendation of the College academic board and with University approval, you may be able to change the course.
Question: Will I get refund of my initial deposit after arriving in Luton?
Answer:
No, the college has a very strict refund policy; there will be no refund once the student gets his/her visa. However if the student is refused a visa, the full amount of the initial deposit will be refunded on providing evidence of the visa refusal.
Question: As an international student am I allowed to work?
Answer:
Yes, you can work for 20 hours a week during term time and 40 hours during the holiday time. You can work for more than 20 hours if your work placement is part of your studies and the college does not object to such a placement.
Question: If I am not a UK resident how can I obtain Health Care?
Answer:
If you are a student on a course lasting more than 6 months you can register with a National Health Service (NHS) doctor and with an NHS dentist. If your course less than 6 months you should consider private health insurance.
Question: Can I bring my husband or wife and children with me and can my dependent work?
Answer:
Yes, during your studies you can bring your husband or wife and children under 18 with you, as long as you can support and accommodate them without public help. Your dependents can work only if you were given permission to stay in the United Kingdom for 12 months or more.
