The HND in Business & Management is a modular business programme. It is a major workplace qualification course which includes a broad range of highly relevant business and management subject areas, making it ideal for those who have started, or are planning to move into, a career in private of public sector business. This HND is also recognised as being equivalent to the first two years of a UK degree. After 1 year of extra study, with entry into the 3rd and final year 3 at a UK, USA, or Australian University. The HND in Business & Management has 16 units.

Entry Requirements

  • A GCE A Level profile which demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or an adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at level A-C.
  • An AVCE/GNVQ in appropriate vocational area.
  • Other related Level 3 qualifications.
  • An Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution.
  • Related work experience or equivalent overseas qualifications.

More mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience (paid and/or unpaid) and/or achievement of a range of professional qualifications in their work sector. All international will also require an English Proficiency certificate that is at or above B1 level of the Common European Framework. Such certificate includes IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Test (a full list of acceptable English Language Certificates can be found on the UKBA website).

(Note: After successfully completing Level 5 Diploma in Business, a LIC student may be enrolled for the final year a degree course.)

Course Assesment

The HND programme is assessed by a mixture of assignments and examinations. Each unit is internally assessed and graded by qualified tutors/assessors and internal verifiers, and than externally by an Edexcel examiner. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit and Distinction.
