Entry Level Certificate English is a well-established course, which has been running successfully (as the Certificate of Achievement (CoA) in English) since 1998. It is intended to cater for those candidates unlikely to achieve a grade in GCSE English and for post-16 candidates, including adult learners, who wish to gain an initial qualification in English. The course is designed to enable candidates to progress either directly to employment or to Foundation Level courses within the National Qualification Framework. This course will enable candidates to develop understanding and basic skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
